In this gym we fight together, we respect each other's efforts. You are only defined by how hard you work. Giving up is not an option. Everyone breaks down their own walls

SUHANJ! Fitness is maintained by the SUHANJ! Foundation

SUHANJ! was founded in 2010 as a non-profit organization with the aim to share the joy of sports with handicapped people. An integrative sport club, where healthy and disabled people can exercise together. A movement of committed volunteers and amateur athletes. A foundation that provides opportunities for training for visually impaired and physically challenged people.

SUHANJ! organizes sport programmes for people living with physical and mental disabilities; weekly trainings in several sports, awareness-raising projects and so on. Our handicapped athletes also participate in competitions with the help of our volunteers.

The SUHANJ! Foundation’s goals of public utility

    1. Health protection, disease prevention: Expanding the opportunities for sport for families with a disabled child, and providing the necessary equipment for it.
    2. Facilitate equal opportunities for socially marginalized people: with awareness raising campaigns and social programmes for healthy and disabled children can meet we battle the everyday prejudices against handicapped people
    3. Organizing charity sport programmes in line with the aims of the foundation.

    SUHANJ! Fitness

SUHANJ! Fitness is our country’s first integrative gym which is accessible for visually impaired and physically handicapped people. It is found at 6. Tátra Street, about 100 meters from Jászai Mari Square, where it welcomes the guests on 500 square meters.

For us, accessibility means not just the entrance. Our gym is equipped with accessible toilets and changing rooms, the movement of our visually impaired guests is helped by special guides, and our machines are especially made to be available for people in wheelchairs.

Such machines can also be used – with adult supervision – by physically challenged children, and are also accessible for visually impaired people.

The gym operates as a social enterprise, employing disabled people and people with health conditions.

We organize skill- and motor development trainings for disabled children. Our classes are integrative and our coaches receive special training to be able provide the necessary help for our disabled guests. Some of our trainings – open for healthy and disabled guests - are held by handicapped athletes.

25 years ago in high school I spent most of my time at the running track. Since then, subsequently to the University of Physical Education and more than 30 Ironman races, I help my guests as a PE teacher and triathlon trainer to achieve their goals by providing them with professional support. My motto is to say yes to new adventures, step over your boundaries.

I was the first one in a wheelchair to complete the kranking instructor course in the FittCollege Képzési Központ of Csaba Tar. Kranking is the best form of training for me as a coach and also as an athlete. In the past 4 years I have held open classes for thousands in the Fitt Arena events with the aim to make indoor sports more popular for disabled persons as well.

I have been in the national wheelchair basketball team for years and I am part of the handbike team of SUHANJ! since 2011. With many handbike marathons and half marathons behind me I firmly believe that more people – healthy and disabled – should participate in sports as it gives company, connections, entertainment and a special experience. In 2015 I have participated in my first international race at the Berlin Marathon.

I am continuously studying to enhance my skills and to provide creative, fun trainings. I have received a Back Roll certificate in 2015 and a Fit Stik diploma in 2016.

I graduated at the College of Pécs for Education as mathematic-physical education teacher.  I completed several special vocational training courses, receiving a certificates in Aerobics, Rhytmic Gymnastics, Pilates, Referee, and Conflict Management and Personality Development.

I worked as a physical education teacher for 17 years and have been a coach and referee for Rhytmic Gymnastics for 19 years. I trained several National Champions, four members of the national team, two European Championship medallists, and one member of the Olympic team.

As Aerobics trainer I held classes in Pilate, Body Shaping, Step Aerobics, Interval trainings, Preventive Spine-Training, Antigravity Yoga.

Teaching and skill development – especially in physical education – has always been important for me. During all my time working in the field of sports, I have always tried to do my best to pass on my knowledge and my love for sports for my students.

After having vision problems since 2010 it became an important professional challenge for me to improve the quality of life of people living with disabilities.

With my extensive experiences I aim to provide friendly, fun and efficient trainings.

I am student at the University of Physical Education, studying health education, rehabilitation, and physical education. Sport has always been in my life. I swam competitively for 10 years. Now swimming has become part of my work as I am holding swimming classes at SUHANJ! and I am assistant coach by the TFSE team as well. Besides swimming, I played basketball and volleyball for 5 years. Currently I am road cycling.

With the opening of SUHANJ! Fitness I started doing spinning. I am holding spinning and circuit training classes in the integrative gym. My aim is to provide opportunity for regular exercise and healthy lifestyle, and that the guests learn the joy of sports during my trainings. Because, as we know, it’s not about “having” time for something, it’s about making time.
